Journal Entry #7

My day was pretty adverage, I got up at 6:00 eat breakfeast and went to school. When I got there I saw the band and cheer performing in the morning, the Band's performance was amazing. I finally payed for my yearbook before the sale was over. I took the second part of my test during math and played bingo in Health. Also ate nachos for lunch and the lunch lady gave me a free cup which left me 75 cents in my pocket.

I would make my kids at least play one instrument to see if they would enjoy playing one. Because they might just like playing instruments. I wouldn't force them to do anything besides keep their rooms clean, clean up after themselves, don't comeback home late and show respect to everyone.

What I like about this project was that it gave us a life experience in Graphic Designing. It prepared us for what would happen in real life with a real client. The things that I disliked about this project was that when I felt like I was finished and i'd done my best work. The "client" told me otherwise, but without this I would have not improved and found different ways to make the banner visually appealing.The other projects that we've done like the 3D effect,edit>transform, and the photoshop mask. Also helped when it came to making the Pioneer Day banner. I liked the project,it gave us an experience on what it's like being in the real world for Graphic Designing.

Today nothing interesting happened today but yesterday was where all the excitment was at. My friends and I were just enjoying our lunch as usual until a bee came out of no where and kept bothering us. Sam slapped the bee and it flew far away. That slap must have made it mad because it came back to us. So we picked up our lunches and ran to the other side of the cafeteria and we stood on the stairs by the 400 hall to be far away from the bee, luckly it didn't follow us.

When I get dissapointed I try to find ways to cheer myself up. I deal with dissapointed by finding out why I was dissapointed and how I can change the feeling of dissapointed by the acions I made. I don't get upset or sit in front of the tv eating a tub of ice cream.

Yes I have filled out a resume before for my 6th grade field trip. We went to JA Biztown and everyone had to fill out a resume for the job you wanted to apply for. Yes, I do have other things than school to put down. I would put down that I have attended volunteering events and sports also I have done outside activities such as karate and many more.

One time I said what was on my mind and I was glad that I did. It was about something that had been going on for weeks between my and I. Then I told her how I felt about the situation and then it ended out the conflict between my mom and I. Because she knew how I felt.

Today was just about average, I went to the cafeteria and bought some Flaming Hot Cheeto's because the vending machine didn't have anymore Doritos. Maybe i'll just give a random person my Cheetos. I enjoyed lunch I went to the asian food line. I sat at the table with my friends and we talked till the bell rang.

Graphic Design Research

Here is the research I gathered about Graphic Design and Multimedia.

• Research 1: Careers that use Graphic Design and Multimedia are oftenly found in advertising agencies. For example like billboards, logos, and web sites.
• Research 2: On an annual scale a graphic designer and a multimedia generally get above $40,000 per year. Those who have more specialized or have more experience will be payed more than others. Another website said that a Graphic Artist can get payed from a range of $36,000 to $40,000 a year. But if you are very experience and are a professional in this area you will get paid $1,500 – $4,000+ per month.

Graphic design is commonly used on in the everyday life for advertising. Depending on the income you make depends on your skill level. If you are just an ameture you will be payed around $40,000 per year. If you are an expert and know what your doing than you will get payed $4,000 every month.

If I have a difficult issue I don't run away or have someone do it for me. I always try my best to find a way to solve the issue without the use of violence. What I do is talk them out and address the issue. But if it is to intense I will ask someone older like my parents. For help when the issue is a really big problem.

1.) The name of the talk is Eric Lewis rocks the jazz world
2.) Eric is a talented crossover jazz pianist  and he appeared on TED Talk for the first time in 2009
3.) It wasn't really a talk more like a performance on how the piano can be played.
4.) He would have changed the world by expanding our view on how we see and use things and that there is more use than one.

The last trip I went to outside of Phoenix was in Mesa. What my family and I did was go to Sliding Rock it was pretty fun it was basiclly a natural made water slide with a buch of moss on the side. It was spiltted up into different sections the shallow water and the deep water. I was just floating along the shallow water and before you know it I was already in the deep water. Good thing I can swim. My big sister Kristin and I were pretending to be lifeguards by helping people who couldn't swim and answering people's questions on where the shallow water was. It was one of the best trips that I had that was outside of Phoenix I hope we could go back there again.

My day so far is average with a little twist. In my Language Arts class we read about a guy who kidnaps people just to hunt them on his island. After that was my second hour which is Health we watched a video about the male reproductive system and let me tell as a girl I could have lived my whole Freshmen year without that video. Then for lunch I talked to my friends again and came to my 4th hour. So far everthing is pretty good.

I heard about the attack of 9/11 from my parents. They told me about the two planes that crashed into the World Trade Center Towers and about how many lives were lost and for my personal opinion about the incident is that it's pretty sad to think about how many lives were lost. But for the attacks I know that two planes crashed into the biggest towers in New York.

The clone stamp tool works by cloning one part of the image and coping it to the selected area. The cloning stamp also takes the the pixels on the selected area and copies them to where you want.

Today was amazing first of all I saw this girl with a pretty cool looking bear. It was ripped,deformed,and even had fake blood on it. Afterthat I went to lunch and ate a delicious sandwich with my closest friends. So much time went by we forgot to check the time and the bell rang while we were in the middle of a joke. Also to top off my day is rain not the kind of rain you get from the place I was born. But just a sprinkle, but everyone outside is flipping out and asking people for jackets.

TED Talk #3

1.) I was listening to Rebecca Saxe: How we read each other's minds
2.) Rebecca studies the way people think and has her own lab called Saxelab at MIT, she uses fMRI to identify the parts of the brain.
3.) The talk was about how different age groups brain devlop slower or faster than others.
4.) I learned about that my brain in comparison to an adults brain is still devolping that's how the talk affected me. This affected me because I learned about the development stages.

What the mask does in photoshop is that it fades the selected parts of the picture to show the other picture behind it. It's great for merging pictures.
