Treatment

TITLE Project: Documentary

ONE LINE SUMMARY: A documentary about the lunch ladies, and how they are human just like everyone else.

THREE PARAGRAPH SUMMARY
1. What is interesting about my story?

- At the beginning of the school year teachers typically give a brief introduction about themselves, their life experiences, family, and any other accomplishments they have made in their life, so the students get a general idea of who the teacher is and possibly where they stand in regards to morals (i.e if a teacher tells you what religion they follow it can kinda give you a brief overview of where they stand). For the 180 days that we go to school we are familiar with our teachers we have days like Teacher Appreciation Week, but we do not have a week or even a day that celebrates the men and women who feed us everyday. Not trying to talk down on T.A.W (Teacher Appreciation Week), but it would be nice to take a minute and realize that these lunch ladies and men are humans too.

2.  How will I keep them entertained

- "You're in the hole," remember hearing that you were two dollars in the hole, and by the grace of the lunch lady she let you have something to eat that day because they knew you will come back later and pay off.

3. Cliffhanger

-Did you know that _______ did ______ what other secrets have the lunch ladies at Deer Valley been keeping from everyone.

(It will just be a bunch of interesting things that they have done in their life, so that students and maybe some staff members can relate to them as people instead of someone who feeds them everyday)

Monday Blog: News Around the World

1.) Uber blocked on biggest Chinese messaging app- Uber is a app where you can request a driver to take you to the destination of your choosing this app was banned from China's biggest messaging app WeChat because the two companies in the past have faced discrepancies with one another about money and where it was coming from. WeChat is not willing to support such a shady company. Because of this action Uber has tried to sue WeChat for not supporting them.

2.) Korean tensions ease as South agrees to stop propaganda broadcasts- North ans South Korea have recently been in disputes about the propaganda issue. The propaganda was released from South Korea because of the tension between two countries. The two countries have recently come to a compromise by apologizing for previous transgressions. North Korea apologized for the landmine detonation and as a result South Korea promises to take down their propaganda posters by noon.

Mask Tool Reflection

I am slowly mastering the mask technique I like using the fuzzy brush because it leaves a soft effect on the image.

Media Production State Standards

  • 1.2 Investigate the history and evolution of media and emerging technology
By learning the history of media we can use the same tactics that we used in the past for the future.

  • 7.4 Design a recommended production schedule
Similar to a storyboard I think this process is important for this class.

Reflection

Today is the third day of my Senior year the classes go by fast. I am taking a full schedule which is not bad because it is all classes that I want to take. This whole week feels like an introduction because of the slow and steady pace of things. Today in class I made this picture.

Dealing With Failure

1.)How do you react when things don't go as expected?

When something unexpected happens I try to stay calm and analyze what I  did wrong and how I could have changed the situation.

2.)What did I learn from the failure speech?
I learned that when we constantly reward the people who get A's it seems like we only reward perfection and not improvement. We should relish on the students that show any type of improvement ex. A grade change of a C to a B.

Copyright Laws About Music

The Copyright and the Public Domain website says that any type of music or lyric protected under this right cannot be reproduce or sold in a way that you are taking credit for the production of this song, but to get around this there is something called public domain- when the copyright expires the owner does not have any exclusive rights on it-which means the public can use it.
  1. True.
  2. False, if the creator of that song signed all of the necessary steps for copyright it can be inherited or transferred to someone else and rights that follow that law will still be valid.
  3. Yes, under copyright you cannot play a recording of the music in a public place even if you own the CD.
  4. Yes, because the person you bought it from may have illegally downloaded the song from somewhere and he is trying to sell it as a legitimate product.

TED Talks: Grit

  1. What is Grit? I think that Grit is a metaphor for the effort that you put into your daily life, and how far you are willing to go with it. Instead of just meeting the standard you would go above and beyond.
  2. The antithesis of Grit? The antithesis of Grit would be when you do not go the extra mile to meet your goal, you settle.
  3. What can I do to increase my "Grittiness"? I can do this by accepting failure, but not settling with it. That it is okay to make mistakes and I should learn from them.
