What I like best about the Christmas holidays is spending my whole weekend with family and friends that come over for Christmas. The weather doesn't become very cold in Arizona but where I was from it would snow so that was another reason why I loved the Christmas Holiday. Traveling is also fun to one time we went to the Grand Canyon for Christmas and that was very fun. Also I love not having to go to school the next day.

Today was quite slow and entertaining at the same time. In my first hour we were watching To Kill A Mockingbird. Even though it was in black and white it was very interesting. My experience with the green screen was okay. What I learned about using the green screen is that you have to be careful about what you are filming. Because if you film someone with a green shirt on the shirt is going to fade away. Another thing I learned from combining videos together like the slap assignment that it can be a difficult trying to put the videos picture perfect. The instructions for the assignment were very clear and made sense.

My favorite Christmas memory was when my Dad and my Mom took my sisters and I to Disneyland. It was the first time we went anywhere as a family. Because my mom and dad are divorced so it extremely rare for us to go on a trip with both my mom and dad there. I was fun on the ride there but mom didn't pack any sandwiches so we ate at a gas station named Chesters. Yeah eating at a gas station sounds pretty  "healthy" doesn't it. Sadly when we got to Disneyland it wasn't the happiest place on earth because everyone got sick and some of us even threw up. Hopefully we can go back again and have a better time at Disneyland.

My Thanksgiving break was amazing. I ate a whole bunch of greens at my mom's house. Then on the next day I went over to my Dad's and he made the best turkey I ever tasted. For dessert at my Mom's we had The Cheesecake Factory's pumpkin cheesecake. At my Dad's house we had s'mores. Our school is smaller compared to other schools student wise and construction wise. The thing that I like about our school is the school color. Our school colors are blue and silver which I think is better than my middle school colors black and yellow. One of the things that I don't like about the school is the orange. There is orange just about everywhere at the school it doesn't make the school look appealing. If people were planning on going to this school there is one thing you need to know there are no lockers. Everything gets carried by hand or in your backpack. That was one of the things I was looking forward to when I got to high school was that we would have lockers to carry our stuff. Because my older sister went to this school Deer Valley High School and she had lockers. Beside all of that the school is pretty okay there is a really big library with a big variety of books from mangas to chapter books.

Today was okay it could have been better. I was lucky I was able to make it to school on time. In my first hour we are reading to Kill a Mocking Bird and we wrote on this paper on which character is similar to us I found out I am a mixture of the four main characters. In second hour we learned about stress and how to handle it and in my 3rd hour we took a test. I studied the night before so I wasn't freaking out when I saw the test. I ate a Philly Cheese Steak sndwhich I was disgusting. Since there are no more Asian Chicken Wraps I have to find an alternative.

1.) Jane McGonigal: The game that can give you 10 extra years of life
2.) Jane was bedridden for 3 months and she had suicidal thoughts and decided that she wanted to make a game that will help her feel better which was called Jane the Concussion slayer which later turned into Super Better. She is also a game designer.
3.)A recap of some of the major points of this talk would be from when she talked about her concussion. She said she hit her head really hard and made a game called Super Better. This game was designed to give the person that plays this game 10 extra lives. Or at least make them feel better mentally, physically, and socially. Through out the talk she list the top five regrets people have when they are on their death bed. Most of the regrets that were metioned in the talk could have been resolved through playing the right games.
4.) My reaction to the talk was that I was amazed. I was surprised that there was actually a game that could extend the adverage life span of someone. Another thing that shocked me was that this game she made didn't just extend your life but made you feel better about yourself. Another thought that I had was that top five common regrets could be resolved with just playing video games. I think she really thought this game out.

Propoganda is when you try to change one person view on something so they can have the same view as you. An example of propoganda is bandwagon, bandwagon is when they try to say that everyone is saying, doing, or acting like subject they are trying to sell. They usually use words like "everyone's doing it" to make you think everyone is doing that. Propoganda is usually used in advertising like on billboards, the media, and in movies.

I believe everyone should be treated equal. The reason I think that is because we are all human. We all need to be treated with the same respect as everyone else. Even though it might be hard to treat some people with the same with respect as others. Because some people might be harder to get along with than others. Another thing is even someone has special needs or speech impared they don't need to be made fun of. Because they want to be treated with the same respect as everyone else. Yeah they might not look, talk, or even act like you. Doesn't mean you have to put someone down for being different. We all have something that someone else doesn't have and we shouldn't judge or be rude to people for that. If you were to see a girl walk around in all black and have chains and buckles. You might think she hates the world doesn't mean we need to shun her. She might have came from a broken home and that is her way of exspressing it.

Today was really adverage everyone in my classes were worried about having their classes switched. In my first hour we didn't get to present because there was a poweroutage at our school. In my next class a guy from NotMyKid came here and told us his story he was really funny. After that I heard music playing in the halls from Lion King. My thoughts about wearing pink on breast cancer awareness month, well I think it's cool that we are supporting and are aware about the subject and that we wouldn't take it lightly and just put on a pink shirt because our friends are. I actually lost my dad's mom to breast cancer so I wear the pink to remeber her because she died when I was 2. Even though I don't like pink and the color of pink in my closet is limited to a pink bracelet and a pink butterfly on my shirt I will still wear it.

In first hour my group finished our power point presentation for the Jim Crow Laws in the computer lab. I was able to finish any other homework that I had not finsished even though all my homework was completed yesterday. In second hour we learned some more about abusive relationships and how to get help from one. After that I turned in my math homework and turned it in, I don't think we have homework today. For lunch I ate at the deli and got an asian chicken wrap and the lunch lady told me that this was going to be the last week for Asian Chicken wraps. Why would they take it away...after I got over my 2 second meltdown I sat with my friends and walked to my next class when the bell rang.

2.) The speaker of the talk is Todd Humphrey
3.) The talk was Todd Humphreys: How to fool a GPS and it talked about how to trick a GPS. He talked about how their are GPS dots and how unhelpful they were a few years ago. He said how they didn't work inside and how they didn't tell you where you were exactly. But then he introduces the new GPS that will be coming out a few years from now. He explains how it dosen't just tell you what street your on, but on which part of the street your on. Also it can sense the wrinkles on the palm of your hand. Another thing about the new GPS is that it's smaller and portable. But with all this cool stuff that the new GPS can do there is also some bad things that come from it. He said a story about this lady and her ex-boyfriend put a GPS in her car she called the mecanic, the police, and even the FBI. But no one could take it out or find it. He later goes on about how there is the wave bubble and how it creates a bubble around you and protects you from unwanted GPS signals. He said you can buy from a factory and it will only cost a little over $10's but even though it blocks signals. It doesn't just make a button around you but it can make a bubble going in meters upon meters from you. He gave an example saying if you were a captain of a ship and a fog is coming and one of the passengers has a wave bubble. Then the GPS will go blank and it will be just you against the fog. But then he said there is something even better than the wave bubble. He called it a GPS Spoofer it takes the signal that you have and makes a fake one over that so it makes your GPS dot in a different location than in where you are currently at. For example if you were in Disneyland it would say you were in Glendale, Arizona. The speaker even showed us a GPS Spoofer model that he made by himself with his three year old son. He also showed an example on how it worked on his I-Phone. By the end of the video he was talking about how if we were to put GPS on everything then we wouldn't have to wonder where it is or ask people where it is. We would know thanks to the GPS dot and we wouldn't lose anything.
4.) I can apply what I learned from the video is that technology is becoming more and more advanced everyday.

Today was pretty adverage I did some work turned it in went to my next class did the same thing. But in Health we finished watching the Annie movie it was a pretty good movie. Then afterthat we took a test in the computer lab called the Gallop I think. Then I took my test in my math class hopefully it's going to be a good grade.

What I like about this project was that it gave us a life experience in Graphic Designing. It prepared us for what would happen in real life with a real client. The things that I disliked about this project was that when I felt like I was finished and i'd done my best work. The "client" told me otherwise, but without this I would have not improved and found different ways to make the banner visually appealing.The other projects that we've done like the 3D effect,edit>transform, and the photoshop mask. Also helped when it came to making the Pioneer Day banner. I liked the project,it gave us an experience on what it's like being in the real world for Graphic Designing.

Today nothing interesting happened today but yesterday was where all the excitment was at. My friends and I were just enjoying our lunch as usual until a bee came out of no where and kept bothering us. Sam slapped the bee and it flew far away. That slap must have made it mad because it came back to us. So we picked up our lunches and ran to the other side of the cafeteria and we stood on the stairs by the 400 hall to be far away from the bee, luckly it didn't follow us.

But if you are very experience and are a professional in this area you will get paid $1,500 – $4,000+ per month.

Graphic design is commonly used on in the everyday life for advertising. Depending on the income you make depends on your skill level. If you are just an ameture you will be payed around $40,000 per year. If you are an expert and know what your doing than you will get payed $4,000 every month.

If I have a difficult issue I don't run away or have someone do it for me. I always try my best to find a way to solve the issue without the use of violence. What I do is talk them out and address the issue. But if it is to intense I will ask someone older like my parents. For help when the issue is a really big problem.

The last trip I went to outside of Phoenix was in Mesa. What my family and I did was go to Sliding Rock it was pretty fun it was basiclly a natural made water slide with a buch of moss on the side. It was spiltted up into different sections the shallow water and the deep water. I was just floating along the shallow water and before you know it I was already in the deep water. Good thing I can swim. My big sister Kristin and I were pretending to be lifeguards by helping people who couldn't swim and answering people's questions on where the shallow water was. It was one of the best trips that I had that was outside of Phoenix I hope we could go back there again.

My day so far is average with a little twist. In my Language Arts class we read about a guy who kidnaps people just to hunt them on his island. After that was my second hour which is Health we watched a video about the male reproductive system and let me tell as a girl I could have lived my whole Freshmen year without that video. Then for lunch I talked to my friends again and came to my 4th hour. So far everthing is pretty good.

I heard about the attack of 9/11 from my parents. They told me about the two planes that crashed into the World Trade Center Towers and about how many lives were lost and for my personal opinion about the incident is that it's pretty sad to think about how many lives were lost. Today was amazing first of all I saw this girl with a pretty cool looking bear. It was ripped,deformed,and even had fake blood on it. Also to top off my day is rain not the kind of rain you get from the place I was born. But just a sprinkle, but everyone outside is flipping out and asking people for jackets.

2.) Rebecca studies the way people think and has her own lab called Saxelab at MIT, she uses fMRI to identify the parts of the brain.
3.) The talk was about how different age groups brain devlop slower or faster than others.
4.) I learned about that my brain in comparison to an adults brain is still devolping that's how the talk affected me. This affected me because I learned about the development stages.

A.)Carter Emmart is the speaker. He use astronomy and computational modeling to create scientifically accurate, three-dimensional tours of the universe.

B.) This talk is about Emmart showing a 3D model of the atlas of the universe.

C.) I thought the talk was pretty cool it showed the Milky Way Galaxy and beyond. It kinda changed the way I thought of the Universe I already knew it was vast but I didn't exspect it to be so big.

D.) Yes, it made me think differently because I learned just how big our universe really was.

C.) I thought the talk was really informative about our improving technology. It did change the way I use to think about technology.

D.) What I would do differently is be prepared to use the future technology in a different way then it's current use.

There are ten Presidential Candidates. The first one is Stewart Alexander he's 59 years old and has declared his candidacy for the Oval Office seat with two different political parties. The second one is Kathyern Lane she's fourty five years old and has registered under the Republican banner she believes that her status as a non-career politician makes her suited for the job. The third person is Andy Martin he's 66 years old he is self-professed People’s Attorney General and Internet Powerhouse. Jimmy McMillian the flamboyant Vietnam veteran also gave some words of advice to President Obama, “If you don’t do your job right, I am coming at you!" Next is Ron Paul he's 75 years old he is set to be one of the most controversial characters on the campaign trail. Afterthat, is Stephen Rollins he is 37 years old and  is an actor, writer, producer, director and business owner. Matt Snyder takes what he does seriously. Randall Terry is 52 years old and the Democrats agree with what he stands for. Danny Woodring is a 63-year-old Vietnam vet. Vern Wuensche ran for President in 2008 but he was in tenth place in both the Iowa and New Hampshire election. If I was to choose someone for president I would choose is Matt Snyder because he seems like he's going to take his job seriously.

Journal Entry #2

Today my day has gone pretty swell. I was able to get to school on time, turn in my homework, and was able to eat and finish my lunch. I took my backpack out of my mom's trunk today so that I wouldn't have to go to school unprepared. Yeah my day today is really good even though I didn't eat breakfeast I have an apettizing lunch. It has almost been a whole week of Highschool they weren't kidding when they say time goes by really fast. Well to me the weeks gone by fast. After this class I only have two more classes after this and bam. My weekend begins. 

Journal Entry #1

Today I snoozed through my alarm clock and woke having to rush through my normal get up routine. Today wasn't really my best day I forgot my backpack in my mom's trunk and had to go to school with limited school supplies and a bag I found in my room. I grabbed a juice box and a bowl of cereal and went to school. I was capable to remember my class rooms so I didn't get lost on my way to class.The limited supplies in my bag helped me to get by today. I got to lunch and had a appetizing cheesburger topped with lettuce and ketchup and pink lemonade to wash it down. I wasn't late to my next class because it was just a few steps away from the cafeteria. It would take lots of work to be late for this class.Hopefully my day will turn out better towards the end.
